Not all games for the Switch are going to be TV enabled. There are going to be some games which will be handheld only, such as Japanese launch title Voez.

This is a rhythm based game which utilised the touchscreen only, which as you can guess means the system cannot be docked to use the TV.

This was taken from the FAQs for the game

Q: Can I play even in TV mode?

A: No. This software can not play in TV mode.

Touch the touch screen in mobile mode to play the game.

Button operation is not available.

What is everybodys thought on this? Is it a good move for the Switch to have games that are handheld only? I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting this, as I maybe would have thought that Nintendo may have requested that the game be playable on the TV as well, seems as it can be used as a console and handheld.

Voez will be available in Japan on 3rd March, same day the Switch launches

I love games, both video and table top. It’s what I spend the majority of my free time doing. I love writing and mixing that with my gaming brings this website!

I love reviewing games, I love the fact that I get to play games that most of the times I wouldn’t have considered playing.
